In order to establish and develop interregional relations with Italy, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Italy T. Bazarbaev made a working visit to the city of Palermo, Sicily region on July 21, 2022. During his visit the Ambassador met with the Mayor of Palermo R. Lagalla,

The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan having expressed the interest of the Kyrgyz side in establishing cooperation and implementing bilateral projects with the municipality of Palermo invited Mayor R. Lagalla to lead a regional delegation to visit Kyrgyzstan.

For his part, Mayor R. Lagalla has noted that Kyrgyzstan is a new and attractive direction for development of international cooperation for the city of Palermo and stressed the readiness to conclude an Agreement on bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador T. Bazarbaev also met with the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Palermo N. Reina. An agreement was reached to study the presented investment projects in Kyrgyzstan and sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Palermo. It was also agreed to organize a visit of Italian entrepreneurs as part of a regional delegation to Kyrgyzstan.

The working visit ended with a meeting with the Head of one of the largest Opera Theaters in Europe "Teatro Massimo" M. Betta, during which T. Bazarbaev invited M. Betta to visit Bishkek and sign a Cooperation Agreement with the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Maldybaev and proposed to organize joint concerts with participation of opera singers and ballet dancers, as well as to organize training internships for them
