Today, September 24, Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Dastanbek Djumabekov spoke at the IV meeting of the Speakers of the parliaments of the countries of Eurasia in the city of Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan).

It should be noted that delegations from 65 countries take part in the 4th meeting of Speakers of Parliaments. 41 countries are represented by speakers of parliaments. The first and second meetings were held in 2016 in Moscow (Russian Federation) and in 2017 in Seoul (South Korea), the third meeting was held in Antalya (Turkey). The initiative for such annual meetings of Eurasian Speakers belongs to the Russian Federation and South Korea.

The agenda of today's event was eventful. The speakers spoke about issues of economic cooperation, sustainable development in Eurasia, joint opposition to world challenges and threats. The meeting participants called the format of this meeting “unique”, since it allows gathering the heads of parliaments from all over the Eurasian continent on one site.

Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastanbek Djumabekov, as part of his speech, said that a large number of participants in the meeting testify to the demand for inter-parliamentary dialogue and demonstrate the interest of the world community in the idea of ​​Greater Eurasia.

Emphasizing the relevance of the topic of the Meeting, Toraga noted the historical role of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Djumabekov further emphasized that under the influence of global problems and challenges, the world is rapidly changing.

“The need to deepen and expand integration relations that go beyond traditional regionalism is becoming increasingly apparent. Ultimately, the development of the state involves expanding the boundaries of political constructivism and mutually beneficial economic cooperation, ”said Toraga.

Djumabekov also noted that “the merger into a single integration project of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Silk Road Economic Belt and the European Union, while realizing all the potential, can be an unprecedented example of sustainable and safe peacebuilding.”

“The liberalization of trade relations, the development of transport and transit infrastructure, the expansion of innovative and industrial cooperation can lay the foundations for overcoming the difference in the level of development between countries, access to transcontinental and maritime routes, and, as a result, production of more than half of world GDP. In turn, this would help to solve many problems of a regional nature and increase the role of Eurasia in solving global threats and challenges, ”Dzhumabekov added.

Toraga also emphasized that the idea of ​​building Greater Eurasia is quite feasible.

Following the results of the next meeting of speakers of the countries of parliaments, the final document will be adopted.
