On 12 August 2022, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea, Aida Ismailova, met with representatives of the Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center.

During the meeting, A.Ismailova expressed Kyrgyzstan’s interest in cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the field of education and health. The Ambassador noted the need to intensify cooperation between our countries in the field of medicine, in particular in the exchange of experience by specialists, doctors and professors.

The parties discussed the possibilities of upgrading the qualifications of students and doctors from the Kyrgyz Republic at the Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center, as well as the possibility of opening joint educational projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, the opening of a branch of the University, a health centre, hospital or medical school.

The parties discussed the implementation of the memorandum of cooperation of the KNU named after Zh. Balasagyn and the Keimyung University, as well as a joint Kyrgyz-Korean project to provide free treatment in the Republic of Korea to 10 citizens from Kyrgyzstan with serious illnesses. According to the Korean side, the first group of five Kyrgyz citizens is scheduled to travel to the Republic of Korea for treatment between 17 and 30 September 2022. The second group of Kyrgyz citizens plans to arrive between 15 and 30 October 2022.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in the field of education and health.
