On September 13, 2019, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan Zhanysh Rustenbekov took part in a ceremony dedicated to the start of the diplomatic mission of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Tajikistan M. Lawson.

As part of this event, a meeting was held between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Tajikistan Zh. Rustenbekov and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Tajikistan M. Lawson, during which an exchange of views on pressing international issues and prospects for further cooperation took place.
