20-23 December 2021, Ankara hosted events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Kyrgyz cinema and the prominent Kyrgyz director Bolot Shamshiev

20-23 December 2021, within the framework of the events, a photo exhibition about personal and professional life of Bolot Shamshiev was held, as well as a short documentary film about the director and his films "The Red Poppies of Issyk-Kul", "The Cranes Fly Early" and "The white ship" were shown.

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Senior Adviser to the President of Turkey Yalçın Topçu, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Bilal Çakıcı, National Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Aiturgan Temirova, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Murat Mambetov and Head of the Department of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Aisuluu Subanaliev took part in the opening and closing events and they made speech, during which noted the invaluable contribution of Bolot Shamshiev to the development of Kyrgyz cinema, as one of the founders of the "miracle of Kyrgyz cinema", and shared their warm memories with him.
