On April 5, 2024, during a working trip to the city of Samsun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Türkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Rector of the «May 19» University Yavuz Unal.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye in the field of education, and also outlined prospects for the further development of this cooperation. The Turkish side expressed interest in studying the unified tests of the Kyrgyz Republic for the purpose of possible further recognition at the «May 19» University.

Rector of the University «May 19» Y. Unal expressed his readiness to provide maximum assistance in solving various problems of Kyrgyz students. Agreements were reached on the revision of outdated agreements with the «May 19» University, as well as on the conclusion of new ones with leading universities in Kyrgyzstan.

The Ambassador noted that the creation of the relevant Agreement will allow the parties to develop and strengthen cooperation and interaction in various areas, including the exchange of teachers and researchers, academic exchange of students of different levels of education, organization of joint scientific events, holding seminars and conferences, as well as regular exchange of educational materials, information and documents of an academic, scientific, technical and pedagogical nature.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev invited Professor Dr. Yavuz Unal to visit the Kyrgyz Republic. In turn, Y. Unal expressed interest in visiting the Kyrgyz Republic.
