On December 8, 2021, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine, together with the philanthropist, director of the Desnaland company specializing in the cultivation of flax and industrial hemp, Michel Tereshchenko, through a video conference call, held a consultation on the cultivation of technical hemp in Kyrgyzstan for members of the Agroindustrial Association of Bast Crops and interested businesses structures of the agrarian sector of Kyrgyzstan.

During the consultation, M. Tereshchenko shared his scientific and practical experience in cultivating new varieties of seed hemp with a low content of tetrahydrocannabinol (without a narcotic variety), technological aspects of cultivation, peculiarities of seeds and processing. The issues on the preparation of the legislative framework for this agricultural crop were also considered.

Special attention was paid to the experience of Ukraine and France and the application of their technologies in Kyrgyzstan.

The parties agreed to jointly expand cooperation in this direction.
