On May 05, 2021, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Ukraine Zhusupbek Sharipov with the Director of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Roman Goryainov.

The Sides discussed a number of bilateral Kyrgyz-Ukrainian issues in the consular sphere, in particular the possibility of holding bilateral consular consultations, excluding the Kyrgyz Republic from the list of countries with a migration risk, liberalizing the procedure for issuing visas to Ukraine to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, expanding the legal framework, establishing Honorary Consulates of the Kyrgyz Republic on the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, the Parties noted their interest in increasing the number of foreign students and expressed their readiness to intensify cooperation in the educational sphere. The Kyrgyz side noted that a draft intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the educational sphere is at the stage of approval. The Ukrainian side provided information about the electronic platform, which is planned to be launched by the fall of this year, for submitting documents to the universities of Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, the Parties expressed mutual interest in further deepening the existing bilateral relations in the consular sphere.
