On March 3, 2022, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Aida Kasymaliyeva held a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix.

During the meeting, issues of development of further cooperation were discussed, including the upcoming visit of UN experts to the Kyrgyz Republic to conduct an examination for law enforcement officers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the sending of a military hospital of the Kyrgyz Republic to one of the UN peacekeeping missions.

In turn, Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix expressed gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for its contribution to ensuring peace and security. He expressed special gratitude for the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the initiative of un Secretary-General Antonio Guterres - the Declaration of Shared Commitments on UN Peacekeeping.

We note that during Minister Kazakbayev's meeting with Mr.Jean-Pierre Lacroix in September 2021 on the shores of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the latter asked to join the initiative of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres - the Declaration of Shared Commitments on UN Peacekeeping. On January 13 of this year, Kyrgyzstan joined this Declaration.

In addition, Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix expressed interest in increasing the number of female peacekeepers and specialists, depending on the needs of UN peacekeeping missions.
