Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic D.Kemelova met with Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in the Kyrgyz Republic Luise Chemberlain

On May 31, 2022 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova met with Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Kyrgyz Republic Luise Chemberlain.

During this meeting Permanent Representative Luise Chemberlain raised topical issues related to cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UNDP on country’s socio-economic development, achieving Sustainable Development Goals and combating climate change as well as adopting UNDP’s Country Program Document for the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2027. Parties agreed on the need of focusing on human development, ensuring access of the Kyrgyz Republic’s population to the water, energy, healthcare, education, etc.

Deputy Minister Kemelova noted the need to actively work on developing remote villages of the Kyrgyz Republic, including Batken province as well as improving social infrastructure and struggling against poverty. She drew special attention to the significance of supporting vulnerable people, particularly, disabled persons.

Dinara Kemelova also noted significance of cooperation towards strengthening government’s potential on preparation of project documentation and submitting them to international foundations and donor organizations. Permanent Representative Luise Chemberlain shared UDNP’s experience in this field and expressed readiness for cooperation in this direction.
