On August 30, 2019, at a meeting of the UN General Assembly, a resolution entitled “Cooperation between the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization” was adopted by consensus.

This draft resolution was introduced to the UN General Assembly by the delegation of the Russian Federation, which in its introduction noted that the elaboration of this document was not easy and required considerable efforts and readiness for constructive interaction and the search for compromises of all parties, especially noting the decisive contribution of the delegation of Kyrgyzstan to work on the document at all stages, coordinating the process of consultations on the document from November 2018 to June 2019, when the Summit of the Heads of Member States of the CSO was held in Bishkek and the chairmanship of the SCO passed to Russia.
