On February 1^st, 2019, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine met with the head of the International Department and Development of International Airlines in Ukraine Veronika Zainkhovska at the head office of International Airlines in Ukraine.

During the conversation, the Sides discussed cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Ukraine in the field of aviation and the resumption of direct air links between the countries.

Representatives of the Embassy provided information on airports in the Kyrgyz Republic and explained the latest changes made to the Air Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (“Open Skies”, “Fifth Level of Air Freedom”).

In addition, it was noted that there is a large potential in the transport of passengers and goods between countries. The opening of direct flights will have a positive impact on the further deepening of the Kyrgyz-Ukrainian trade, economic, investment, cultural relations and mutual tourist exchange.

The sides agreed to continue the discussion on the establishment of a direct air link between the capitals.
