On February 16, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Ukraine I. Kadyrkulov met with the Director of the Ukrainian National Foreign Economic Corporation "Vazhmashipeks" E. Kozik. This corporation unites 20 large enterprises of heavy engineering for the production of equipment for hydroelectric power plants, thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, gas turbine power plants and for the mining industry.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian side was informed about the hydropower potential of Kyrgyzstan and the participation of our country in the largest energy project CASA-1000.

The ambassador noted the urgent need to build large, medium and small hydropower plants in Kyrgyzstan, modernize the power grid complex and build new substations with high-voltage power lines.

Taking into account the huge potential of this corporation, Ambassador I. Kadyrkulov called for investments in the energy sector of Kyrgyzstan.

The Ukrainian side noted that their JSC "Turboatom" since 1980 has been widely involved in the formation and development of the energy sector in Kyrgyzstan. This enterprise designed, manufactured, delivered and put into operation seven hydraulic turbines for Kurpsai HPP-4 and Tashkumyr HPP-3 with a total capacity of 1.289 million kW.

The head of the corporation assured his readiness to implement projects in the fields of hydropower and mining with the possible training of Kyrgyz specialists in these areas.
