On March 16-17, 2023 in Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Aibek Artykbaev takes part in the 49th session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The session is held under the slogan "Moderation: key to security and stability". It is chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritania, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, and attended by the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, representatives of observer countries and international organizations.

During the session, the participants will consider a number of political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other issues of interaction within the Organization. The agenda of the session is devoted to the discussion of traditional issues of the Islamic world, support for the Muslim community and its culture in various parts of the world, as well as topical problems of modern society in countering violent extremism and terrorism, as well as issues of security and stability.

The agenda also includes the problem of Islamophobia that coincides with the first anniversary of the UN declaration announcing March 15 as the International Day against Islamophobia.

In addition, Deputy Minister A.Artykbaev will hold bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations of the OIC member states, as well as partner countries and observers of the Organization on the sidelines of this event.
