On March 16-17, 2023, on the sidelines of the 49th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (CFM OIC) in Nouakchott, Mauritania, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Aibek Artykbaev held a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations of OIC member states,  as well as partner countries and observers of the Organization.

In particular, negotiations were held with Deputy Foreign Ministers of Egypt Ehab Badawy, Malaysia - Cheong Loon Lai, Indonesia - Tri Tharyat, as well as with US Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya and Australia's Special Envoy to the OIC Ridwaan Jadwat.
Negotiations were also held with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Pakistan and other heads of delegations from the states of the Middle East and Africa.

During the meetings, Deputy Minister A.Artykbaev discussed with his counterparts topical issues and promising areas of bilateral cooperation, including the intensification of political contacts by organizing mutual visits at high and highest levels, increasing the volume of bilateral trade and investment, implementing joint projects in various areas, simplifying the visa regime, the development of tourism and the opening of direct flights, as well as cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

At meetings with certain countries, agreements were reached on organizing in the near future bilateral ministerial political consultations and regular meetings of intergovernmental committees for cooperation.

Deputy Minister A.Artykbaev also addressed the heads of delegations of the OIC member states with a request to support the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the period 2027-2028, and presented special letter of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Zh.Kulubaeva to the foreign ministers of the OIC member states on this issue.
