On January 19, 2024  on the initiative of the Vatican side the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See, Archbishop J. Panamthundil paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the meeting, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan D. Dyushekeyev congratulated the Apostolic Nuncio J. Panamthundil on the presentation of his credentials to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S. N. Japarov on December 5, 2023 and emphasized the interest of the Kyrgyz side in further developing cooperation with the Holy See and the Nunciature in Astana.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further steps to expand bilateral relations, including strengthening the regulatory framework between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Vatican State.
