As part of the ongoing work to strengthen the health care capacity of the Kyrgyz Republic with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Korea, during the visit of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Chong Woo Taek to the Kyrgyz Republic, on July 14, 2023 in Bishkek an Intergovernmental Agreement was signed between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea on the project "Functional improvement of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital" in the amount of 27 million US dollars. The agreement was signed under a concessional credit line from the Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF).

As part of the project, it is planned to build an additional building of the Republican clinical infectious diseases hospital with 130 beds, provide modern equipment, create an informational system for the hospital and train medical staff.
