On June 11, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Korea, A. Ismailova, and the President of T’way Airlines, Yong Hong Kyung. During the meeting, the parties positively assessed the opening of direct flights in 2023.

During the meeting, Ambassador A. Ismailova noted that today is a significant date between the two countries. Exactly a year ago, together with the President of T’way, direct flights were launched. Over the course of a year, through joint efforts, the parties managed to maximize the potential for opening air traffic between Kyrgyzstan and Korea. She noted the interest of the Kyrgyz side in opening flights on the Seoul-Osh route, as well as transit flights to Europe through Bishkek.

Yong Hong Kyung, in turn, expressed gratitude to the Embassy for the assistance provided in opening direct flights and active work to increase passenger traffic between the two countries. Currently, the number of flights on the Seoul-Bishkek route is 2 times a week. At the same time, he noted that in the near future (from July 2024) it is planned to increase flights to 3 times a week for the summer period.
