September 22, 2021, in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu and Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Eric Green. At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic congratulated Donald Lu on his appointment to said high position.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the ministerial meeting in the "C5 + 1" format, as well as other topical issues of bilateral relations and the regional agenda.

The American side announced its readiness to provide Kyrgyzstan with additional COVID-19 vaccines, as well as further cooperation in various areas, including further strengthening of democratic institutions.

The work carried out by the parties on the admission of Afghan students to Kyrgyzstan was noted in a positive way, the Kyrgyz side noted the priority of admitting female students.

An agreement was reached to maintain close contact in the matters of joint work on mutually beneficial projects, especially in trade and economic sphere.
