A telephone conversation took place between the Foreign Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Canada

On May 25, 2020, a telephone conversation took place between Chingiz Aidarbekov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and François-Philippe Champagne, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Canada.
During the conversation, the parties discussed cooperation in overcoming the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The issue of easing the debt burden of the Kyrgyz Republic to international financial institutions was separately discussed. Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov expressed gratitude to the Canadian side for the assistance rendered in this direction.
An agreement was reached on establishing working contacts between medical experts of the two countries directly involved in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 to exchange experience.
In terms of developing bilateral cooperation, ways to diversify economic ties between countries, exchange experience in the field of environmental protection, and encourage humanitarian contacts were also considered. The schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest and highest levels was discussed.


Ministers also reviewed existing international initiatives of the two countries.
