Ambassador Baktybek Amanbaev met with the U.S. Under Secretary of State

On April 5, 2024, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States and Canada Baktybek Amanbaev met with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya.

During the meeting parties exchanged views on the development of democracy and the human rights situation in Kyrgyzstan, as well as discussed the Law on the non-governmental organizations (so called Foreign Representatives Law).

Ambassador Bakyt Amanbaev informed about the human rights situation in Kyrgyzstan and on the measures taken to develop democratic institutions in country.

Uzra Zeya noted that Kyrgyzstan has always been characterized by its defense of democratic principles and confirmed readiness to cooperate in the field of human rights and the development of democratic values.

In conclusion, both sides expressed mutual intention to continue constructive cooperation in a wide range of bilateral cooperation areas.
