On July 4, 2020 through the efforts of the the Kyrgyz and Turkish authorities, the Embassy and Consulate General in Istanbul 237 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were returned to the homeland with the charter flight of Pegasus Airlines on an Istanbul-Bishkek route. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan who were in various cities of Turkey for the purpose of treatment, work, study, etc. were returned by mentioned flight in accordance with earlier compiled lists by the Embassy and Consulate General based on appeals of citizens. For citizens who expressed a wish of departing from Ankara, the Embassy organized the transport for moving to the airport in Istanbul.

The flight was carried out as part of the ongoing work to return citizens of Kyrgyzstan who are in foreign countries and are not able to return to our homeland due to the temporary closure of borders and the suspension of international passenger air traffic in connection with the pandemic of the coronavirus Covid-19.

It should be noted that 1880 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were returned to their homeland by charter flights organized by the Embassy in March-July.

Due to the suspension of air traffic between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Embassy continues to receive numerous requests from citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic on the issue of returning to their homeland.
