Grinchenko University of Kyiv, author of translations of the novels of C. Aitmatov, N. Vaskiv with the award named after N. Lukash “The Arts of Translation”.

On January 15, 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine Zhusupbek Sharipov took part in the solemn celebration of the 95th anniversary of the international journal of foreign literature “Vsesvit” and awarded the doctor of philological sciences, professor of the journalism department of B. Grinchenko University of Kyiv, author of translations of the novels of C. Aitmatov, N. Vaskiv with the award named after N. Lukash “The Arts of Translation”.

The event was attended by cultural figures of Ukraine, writers, representatives of Embassies, publishers and students of Kiev universities.

Ambassador Zh. Sharipov spoke about the life and work of Ch.Aitmatov, the features of his works, and also provided information on the work done by the Embassy on the occasion of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Ch.Aitmatov in 2018. In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Zh. Sharipov noted the invaluable contribution of the Vsesvit magazine and the author of the translation of the works of Ch. Aitmatov N. Vaskiv to the celebration of the 90th anniversary of
Ch. Aitmatov and to the promotion of cultural cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine.

For reference: on the initiative of the Embassy, in 2018, the special issue of the All-Ukrainian journal of foreign literature “Vsesvit” published the works of Ch.
