On February 27, 2019, in the city of Er-Riyad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Ibragim bin Abdelaziz Al-Assaf, as part of his first ever official visit as Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, the Ministers discussed topical issues of a mutual interest related to the bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international agenda. Regarding the prospects for the development of Kyrgyz-Saudi bilateral cooperation, the parties agreed on the importance of intensifying visits at the highest and high levels. The tasks of deepening a constructive dialogue in the bilateral and multilateral formats, mutual support to the elected bodies of international organizations were noted. The parties planned to develop bilateral investment and credit projects aimed at sustainable socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries noted with satisfaction the forthcoming participation of a large delegation of Kyrgyz athletes at the Camel Fest Ethno-Festival, which will be held in March in Saudi Arabia.

The Ministers signed the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the arranging of the Kyrgyz-Saudi inter-MFA political consultations.

The parties agreed to continue political contacts and coordinate work.
