On December 27, 2018, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Tajikistan organized a presentation of the published novel in the building of the National Library of Tajikistan. The event was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan Rakhmatullo Mirboboev, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdusalom Miralizod, Chairman of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Tajikistan Nizom Kosim, Tajik writer and translator Hikmat Rakhmat, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Embassies of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as , societies of friendship and creative intelligentsia of Tajikistan.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan J. Rustenbekov noted that Chyngyz Aitmatov is one of the most widely read modern writers. His books have been translated into 170 languages ​​of the world, published in a total circulation of over 60 million copies. Also, since the 1960s, almost all the works of Ch. Aitmatov have been translated and published in the Tajik language.

Chyngyz Aitmatov repeatedly visited Tajikistan, met with the Tajik intelligentsia. He was close friends with the Tajik poet Mirzo Tursunzade, writer Akbar Tursun, poetess Gulruhsor Sofieva and has a huge audience in Tajikistan of readers and connoisseurs of his work. Ambassador J.Rustenbekov emphasized that Ch.Aitmatov was a great friend of the Tajik people.

In conclusion of his speech, Ambassador J. Rustenbekov presented the Director of the National Library of the Republic of Tajikistan with an archival photo of C. Aitmatov with the Tajik poet M. Tursunzoda, and the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan - the complete collection of works by Ch. Aitmatov.

Chairman of the Writers' Union of Tajikistan N.Kosim in his speech stressed that Tajikistan appreciated and deeply honored Ch.Aitmatov and his work. He noted that Tajikistan held a number of events dedicated to Aitmatov, in particular, on the initiative of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Tajikistan, in December 2018, an international scientific-practical conference was held at the Tajik National University on the theme “Creativity of Ch. Aitmatov and his influence on the development of Tajik prose ".

First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan R. Mirboboev expressed gratitude for the donated books and noted that the works of Aitmatov are included in the list of school topics for writing essays. In addition, the stories and stories of Aitmatov are recommended for extracurricular readings. He expressed confidence that the work of Aitmatov will serve as another basis for the further development and strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties and friendship between the two countries.

 The Ambassador of Kazakhstan and a representative of the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan also spoke at the event and informed about the events in their own countries dedicated to the jubilee of the great writer.

 At the conclusion of the event, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan in Tajikistan J.Rustenbekov transferred 370 copies of Ch.Aitmatov’s novel "When Mountains Fall" In the Tajik language to the National Library of Tajikistan and 320 copies to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan.
