On October 26, 2020, there was held the meeting of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan Zh.Rustenbekov with Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan M. Huseinzoda.

During the meeting, Zh.Rustenbekov informed the interlocutor about the current internal political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic and the efforts made by the new government of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by the acting President S.Zhaparov, he mades efforts to reform the public administration system, the situation in the country has stabilized and political processes are developing in the legal field.The Ambassador emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic remained fully committed to all its international obligations and strict implementation of all previously signed bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements. The sides also discussed prospects for increasing bilateral cooperation at the level of heads of state, government and foreign ministries of the two countries, as well as topical issues of mutually beneficial Kyrgyz-Tajik relations in political, water, energy, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, including joint interaction within regional and international organizations. Special attention was paid to the issues of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state borders. Following the meeting, they expressed confidence that the existing friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will be continued to serve as a basis for further mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening good-neighborliness.
