On May 21, 2022, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, in cooperation with the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the “Min-on” concert association, The event was held at the Akasaka Community Center, Minato Ward (Tokyo).

In the children’s program, participants were presented with a presentation about Kyrgyzstan and a concert on national musical instruments with traditional dances. The youngest and most active participants tried their skills in the performance of the Kyrgyz dance “Besh yrgai”.

The evening program included a cultural exchange of Professor of the University of Tsukuba, Mr. Toshinobu Usuyama, with professor of the Tokyo University of Music Ms. Kalyiman Umetbaeva and Chairman of the Kyrgyz-Japanese Association for Cultural Exchange Mr. Leo Tadagawa.

Welcoming remarks were made by Mr. Erkin Atabekov, Counselor of the Embassy, Mr. Hirohiko Nakahara, Director General of the Agency for Culture Affairs, and Mr. Kazuto Ito, President of the “Min-on” concert association.

At the end of the talk show there was a concert performed by Umetbaeva Kalyiman (Komuz), Haruka Hayakawa (Komuz), Masashi Kato (Komuz), Leo Tadagawa (ooz komuz), Tomoko Mitsuishi (Koto) and Rui Yamoto (Kyrgyz Dance).

An exhibition of photography and decorative and applied arts was also organized during the event.
