On January 30, 2020, a meeting at the level of experts in the field of tourism within the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Japanese Association of Тravel Аgencies (JATA), was held in Tokyo.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, diplomats of embassies and experts in the field of tourism of Central Asian countries, JATA, as well as Japanese travel agencies.

During their presentations, the experts presented information about the tourism potential of Central Asian countries, unique tourist routes that include visits to a number of countries, as well as initiatives and efforts of the regional governments to promote and develop the tourism sector.

The Japanese side provided detailed information about the segment as Japanese outbound tourism, the preferences of Japanese tourists, and also noted positive changes, such as the development of tourist infrastructure and air traffic between the countries of the region.

The Japanese side also called for further close cooperation between the countries on the introduction of a single tourist visa for Central Asian countries to promote tourism.

The meeting also included negotiations between experts and Japanese tour operators to establish professional contacts.
