About the visit of Ambassador M.Arstanbaev to Kagoshima Prefecture

On December 22-24, 2021, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Japan Mr. Mirlan Arstanbaev visited Kagoshima Prefecture.

As part of the visit, on December 22, 2021, the Ambassador Mr. M.Arstanbaev met with the Mayor of Ibusuki City Mr. Toyodome Etsuo, and on December 24, 2021, a meeting was held with the Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture Mr. Sikhota Koichi.

Parties expressed interest on holding cultural events in 2022 dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan.

In particular, it is planned to hold days of Kyrgyz cinema, performances of artists from the Kyrgyz Republic and setting up a yurt camp. It is also planned to hold events aimed at enhancing and promoting trade and economic cooperation.

Ambassador Mr. M.Arstanbaev expressed gratitude for the support of the Japanese side. In particular, he noted the role of the Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kyushu Mr. Masaharu Mizusako in providing the Kyrgyz Republic with hemodialysis machines in 2018. With the assistance of the Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Masaharu Mizusako, as well as members of the Kyrgyzstan-Kagoshima Friendship Association, meetings with representatives of the local business community were also held.

For reference: In 2017, M. Mizusako, in close cooperation with the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, successfully delivered 200 pieces of sakura seedlings to Kyrgyzstan. The opening ceremony of the Sakura Garden took place in the on May 4, 2017 with the participation of Honorary Consul Mr. M.Mizusako on the territory of a military sanatorium (built by Japanese prisoners of war) in the Tamga village of Issyk-Kul region. The garden has become a symbol of Kyrgyz-Japanese friendship and will help attract tourists from Japan.

With the active assistance of Mr. M.Mizusako, a project was carried out to transfer to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic donated hemodialysis machines "Surdial55 +" from the medical institution "Tokushyukai". In particular, in 2018, the opening of the Hemodialysis Center took place in the Naryn regional hospital. As of July 2021, more than 8691 hemodialysis sessions have been performed.
