On February 24, 2022 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to the Kyrgyz Republic Charles Garrett.

During the meeting the Parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UK. In particular, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic R.Kazakbaevexpressed a request to accelerate providing of the British side's responses to the draft bilateral agreements, draft Roadmap for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UK for 2022-2025, previously submitted for the consideration of British side.

In addition, the Parties discussed the situation in Ukraine. Minister R.Kazakbaev informed the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kyrgyz Republic Ch.Garrett about the statement of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N.Zhaparov on the situation in Ukraine, which notes the need to resolve emerging situations in a peaceful, diplomatic way.

In this regard, it was noted that, given today's events, we call for an early de-escalation, the resumption of the search for ways to peaceful settlement of the conflict and the need to resolve the conflict situation exclusively by political and diplomatic methods at the negotiating table.
