The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom

participated in the celebrations of the International day of Nooruz

at the University College of London

 

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom took part in the «Central Asian Spring Festival 2022» dedicated to the celebration of the International Day of «Nooruz» which was held at the University College of London (UCL) in London on March 20, 2022.

The initiators and organizers of this spring festival were student communities of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and others studying in London.

During the event there were presented variety of folk art products, reflecting culture and traditions of the Kyrgyz people, as well as materials on tourism opportunities and attractions of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The cultural program with the presentation of folk dances and songs, including the Kyrgyz, aroused a great interest among the visitors of the spring festival. Famous songs and melodies including «Mash-botoi» by Atai Ogonbaev, «Biimergen» by Shailoobek Duisheev, «Kochmondor» and «Tushumdo» by Kurmangazy Azykbaev sounded on the festival stage, which were accompanied by dances of our talented compatriots like Aizada Bektenova, Meerim Bektenova, Nurek Bugubaev and other participants.

The festival of the «Nooruz» celebration at University College London (UCL) was attended by over two thousand students and residents of London, as well as representatives of diasporas from Central Asia.
