On June 18, 2020, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Chingiz Aidarbekov participated in High-Level Video Conference on Belt and Road International Cooperation.
During the conference, the parties discussed broad aspects related to combating the COVID-19 pandemic and curbing its spread in the world, as well as issues related to promoting economic recovery and production activities in a pandemic.
H.E. Mr. Chingiz Aidarbekov informed about the situation about the spread of coronavirus infection in Kyrgyzstan and the fight against it. He emphasized the importance of the issues of suspension of payments on servicing state debts in accordance with the G20 initiative on suspension of payments on servicing debt to the least developed countries of the world in order to facilitate their economic recovery and sustainable development.
This forum was organized at the initiative of the Chinese side. It was attended by State Councilor, Foreign Minister of the Republic of China H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Director General of the World Health Organization Mr. Tedros Adan Gebreisus, UN Under-Secretary-General, UNDP Administrator Mr. Achim Steiner, as well as Vice Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers of 28 countries.
