Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev paid a working visit to Kastamonu

On February 6-7, 2020, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev paid a working visit to Kastamonu.

As part of the trip, Ambassador K. Omuraliev met with the Governor of the province of Kastamonu Yashar Karadeniz. The parties noted the need to expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, and also discussed the protection of rihgts of Kyrgyz citizens living in Kastamonu province.

During the meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Kastamonu, Nuray Colak, was reached an agreement to restore ties and strengthen cooperation between the twin-cities of Naryn and Kastamonu.

At the meeting with Rector Prof. Ahmet Topal the issues in the field of education, as well as the issues of teaching Kyrgyz students at the University of Kastamonu were discussed.

 As part of the trip, Ambassador K. Omuraliev met with members of the Board of Directors of the Kastamonu Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KATSO), made a presentation on investment opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic and business conditions, and also invited businessmen to visit Kyrgyzstan.

In order to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ambassador K. Omuraliev met with the Director of the Directorate for Migration of the province of Kastamonu, Eshref Shahin.

Ambassador K. Omuraliev met with the Eshref Shahin, Director of the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate for Migration, was invited for practical assistance, , with senior officials from the migration service. At the meeting, issues of protecting the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey, the rights and obligations of foreign citizens residing in Turkey were discussed, and the Turkish side provided answers to questions of Kyrgyz citizens.

For reference: Kastamonu is the administrative center of the province of the same name, located in the northern part of Turkey. The provincial population is 380 thousand people, and 117 thousand people live in the city of Kastamonu. In 2018, Katamonu was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world. The economy of Kastamonu province is based on industry (woodworking), agriculture, domestic tourism, etc. The University of Kastamonu was established on March 1, 2006. In the 2019-2020 academic year, the number of students was over 32 thousand. The University includes 13 faculties, 2 institutes, 3 colleges, 13 vocational schools and 19 research and applied centers.
