Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Center , Deputy Head of the OSCE Secretariat Ambassador Tuula Yrjölä visited the Kyrgyz Republic

Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Center (CPC), Deputy Head of the OSCE Secretariat Ambassador Tuula Yrjölä visited the Kyrgyz Republic from 19 to 21 July this year in the framework of participation in the Regional Meeting of the OSCE Heads of Field Missions in Central Asian countries in Bishkek.

During this visit, Director of the CTC T. Yrjölä also met with Akykaitchy(ombudswoman) A.Abdrakhmatova, the Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for Special Assignments T.Masadykov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic D.Kemelova.

Deputy Minister D.Kemelova, during her meeting with T. Yrjölä, noted the active work of the OSCE in Kyrgyzstan, aimed at supporting the efforts of the country's government to strengthen democracy, socio-economic development and security, encourage production and entrepreneurship.

She stressed the relevance of strengthening joint activity with OSCE on economic and environmental dimension and implementing of socio-economic projects aimed at combating poverty, ensuring stability and security, as well as developing the country's regions.

D. Kemelova, in her speech at the Regional Meeting of the OSCE Heads of Field Missions in Central Asia, informing about the Fourth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held on July 21 this year in Cholpon-Ata, noted the importance of the summit not only for safe and sustainable development of the countries of the region, but also for the entire OSCE area.

Director of the OSCE Center T. Yrjölä positively assessed the efforts of Kyrgyzstan to develop and strengthen regional cooperation, which resulted in the holding of the last Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia on the lake Issyk-Kul.

She reaffirmed the readiness of OSCE to provide further support to Kyrgyzstan and all Central Asian countries to ensure their sustainable development, peace and security.
