On November 3, 2021, the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Iran Turdakun Sydykov with the Director General of the Eurasia Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Alireza Khakikiyan took place.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the IRI T. Sydykov informed the interlocutor about the current internal political situation, ongoing reforms, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic on November 28, 2021.

Within the framework of this meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda of Kyrgyz-Iranian bilateral relations.

NPP of the Kyrgyz Republic in IRI T. Sydykov emphasized the priority of trade, economic and investment cooperation and the importance attached by the top leadership of the republic to the promotion of economic diplomacy in the foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Ambassador T Sydykov drew attention to the prospects of investing in priority projects in the field of energy, in particular, in the construction of large and small hydroelectric power plants, agriculture, processing industry in Kyrgyzstan, as well as in the development of transit transport potential and tourism of the two countries. In this context, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic called on the Iranian side to consider the possibility of investing and providing financial and economic assistance to the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic twinned with Iran, in particular, in the construction of social facilities in the Batken region.

 Taking into account the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Iran in 2022, the NWP of the Kyrgyz Republic in the IRI T. Sydykov suggested that this anniversary year jointly organize mutual visits at the highest and high levels, as well as conduct trade, economic, investment and cultural humanitarian activities in the Kyrgyz Republic and Iran.

In turn, Director General of the Department of Eurasia Alireza Khakikiyan congratulated the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Sydykov on the presentation of Letters of Credence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and assuming the office of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Iran, supported the initiative of the Kyrgyz Ambassador to develop a joint "road map" in priority areas of bilateral cooperation and assured of the readiness of the Iranian side to consider all the proposals voiced by the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan and provide all-round assistance in the implementation of the diplomatic mission of the NWP of the Kyrgyz Republic in Iran.

The head of the Eurasia Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Alireza Khakikiyan, expressed deep gratitude to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for supporting Iran in joining full membership in the SCO.

In this regard, the parties noted the existing opportunities in expanding Kyrgyz-Iranian cooperation within the framework of regional organizations such as the OIC, ECO and EAEU.

Also, Alireza Khakikiyan wished the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the IRI T. Sydykov success in his diplomatic activities in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Iran T. Sydykov, expressing gratitude to the interlocutor for his wishes and assured the Iranian side that he would make every effort to further develop and strengthen Kyrgyz-Iranian relations in all areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
