On July 29, 2022, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Aida Ismailova met with the Vice President of «Coupang» Yong Mok Lee, during which the possibility of cooperation between «Coupang» and the OJSC «Kyrgyz Post» was considered, as well as the promotion and distribution of domestic products on the market South Korea.

In particular, the Ambassador proposed cooperation between «Coupang» and OJSC «Kyrgyz Post» in consolidating shipments from the trading floor through the warehouse of the Kyrgyz Republic in Seoul, expressed the intention of OJSC «Kyrgyz Post» to popularize «Coupang» in Kyrgyzstan and invited the company to send an expert group for the Kyrgyz Republic for a comprehensive study of the sales market with the purpose of identifying potential products and goods for further export to the Republic of Korea.

In turn, Yang Mok Lee, thanking for the interest shown in cooperation with «Coupang», assured that the Ambassador's proposals would be carefully studied. In addition, representatives of the company noted the great potential of environmentally friendly products from Kyrgyzstan.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue consultations on the above issues.

For reference: «Coupang» is a large South Korean e-commerce company. Founded in 2010, the company has grown into the largest online marketplace in South Korea. «Coupang» is often referred to as the "Amazon of South Korea" due to its position and size in the South Korean online market.
