Mirgul Moldoisaeva, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, met with Marie Roudil, the Director of the UNESCO Office in New York

On January 19, 2021, Mirgul Moldoisaeva, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, met with Marie Roudil, the Director of the UNESCO Office in New York. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and UNESCO in the field of education, science and the promotion of scientific research to address topical issues of environmental protection, the negative consequences of climate change and biodiversity.

Permanent Representative Mirgul Moldoisaeva positively noted the current level of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNESCO and confirmed the willingness of the Kyrgyz party to proceed the implementation of international obligations on development of the national education system and scientific activities. Mirgul Moldoisaeva also positively noted the inclusion of elements of Kyrgyz culture in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Then she informed about the intention of the Kyrgyz side to put forward a number of initiatives to develop international cooperation.

In her turn, the Director of the UNESCO Office in New York, Mary Roudil confirmed her organization's readiness to support the designated international initiatives of the Kyrgyz side and assist in their promotion.
