The 2nd inter-MFA consultations were held between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

On August 18, 2022, in Islamabad the 2nd inter-MFA consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the level of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Aibek Artykbaev and the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Aamir Aftab Qureshi.

During the event, the parties discussed the current state and promising areas of bilateral cooperation, noting the importance of a comprehensive expansion of cooperation in the context of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries.

In his speech, Deputy Minister A. Artykbaev covered key aspects of the bilateral agenda and stressed the importance of well-coordinated work between the Foreign ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, aimed at intensifying bilateral political contacts, developing mechanisms for the effective development of cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, science, medicine and culture, as well as in terms of the implementation of joint projects and initiatives. He paid special attention to the need to establish close contacts between representatives of the business circles of two countries and organize effective logistics routes to increase mutually beneficial economic cooperation. He stressed the importance of developing cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations such as the SCO, OIC, ECO and UN, especially in terms of ensuring security and developing regional integration.

The parties noted the existing extensive potential between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, reaffirmed their readiness to deepen and intensify relations between the two countries, including the conduction of the visits at the highest and high levels, and also stressed the need to consolidate efforts in promoting topical issues of bilateral cooperation. They agreed to carry out well-coordinated joint work in terms of expanding relationships at the level of government bodies and the civil community, updating and improving the efficiency of the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, as well as promoting and supporting various projects.

As a result of the event, the parties agreed to hold the 4th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation in early October 2022, combining it with the next bilateral business forum.
