The XVI meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on German Affairs took place

On May 27, 2024, the XVI meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-German Commission for the Affairs of the Germans of Kyrgyzstan was held in Bishkek.

The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Moldogaziev, the German delegation was headed by Member of the Bundestag, Commissioner of the Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for Issues of Immigrants and National Minorities Natalie Pawlik.

In his speech, Deputy Minister Aibek Moldogaziev noted with satisfaction the intensification of the political dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Germany in 2023.

Aibek Moldogaziev said that in multinational Kyrgyzstan, all conditions have been created for the preservation and development of all ethnic groups of their language, culture and identity. In particular, the ethnic Germans of Kyrgyzstan are an integral part of our society, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country. Speaking about the German language, Deputy Minister Aibek Moldogaziev emphasized the interest of Kyrgyz youth in learning it and getting to know the culture of Germany.

In turn, Commissioner Natalie Pawlik and representatives of relevant German authorities spoke about the support of ethnic Germans in the Kyrgyz Republic from the Federal Government. In particular, the German side spoke about the activities being implemented in Kyrgyzstan in 2024.

During the meeting, Chairman of the People's Council of Germans of Kyrgyzstan Valery Dill also provided information on the activities of the People's Council of Germans.

Following the meeting, a corresponding Communiqué was signed.
