A national contest of art works entitled "Kyrgyz-British Cooperation through the Eyes of Children of Kyrgyzstan" was held

Towards the objective of developing friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and the United Kingdom, a national contest of art works entitled "Kyrgyz-British cooperation through the eyes of Kyrgyz children" was held during May-June 2022 in Kyrgyzstan, at the initiative of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the UK and Northern Ireland with the joint support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the KR and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the KR as well as the British Embassy in the KR.

Students from 5 to 9 grades from all regions of Kyrgyzstan aged 10-15 took part in the competition.

The Competition Committee had a difficult task in selecting the winners, as all the drawings were interesting, creative, different in subject and technique. The young artists used their creativity and imagination to depict British and Kyrgyz cultures through the traditional images of Manas and Big Ben, yurts and double-decker buses, the majestic Ala-Too mountains and English parks using paint and pencils.

The Committee selected the winners, who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as the authors of the best works, who received prizes, gifts and certificates from the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the British Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the British company "Chaarat".

On June 14, 2022, the winners and runners-up in the Children's Drawing Contest were invited to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic for an awards ceremony.

Some of the selected best drawings will be exhibited at the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the UK. Others will be donated to private collections and gifted to the members of the Parliament of the United Kingdom as well as to public and political figures in the UK.
