The Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN took part in the 58th session of the UN Commission for Social Development, dedicated to the priority theme of “Affordable housing and social protection systems for all to solve the problem of homelessness”

On February 13, 2020, the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN took part in the 58th session of the UN Commission for Social Development, dedicated to the priority theme of “Affordable housing and social protection systems for all to solve the problem of homelessness”.

In her statement, Ms. Mirgul Moldoisaeva, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, noted that by adopting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, UN member states agreed to make significant progress in creating universal social protection systems that are in line with national conditions, including ensure universal access to safe and affordable housing

Ms. Mirgul Moldoisaeva informed about the work carried out by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the Affordable Housing Program for the period 2015-2020, the purpose of which is to create conditions for increasing housing affordability in the Kyrgyz Republic through the implementation of measures to build affordable housing in the required volumes in all regions of the country and providing affordable mortgage mechanisms for the acquisition of housing with the participation of the country's banking system, noting the adoption in 2018 of the Kyrgyz Republic’s National Development Strategy for 2018-2040, as well as the plan of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for its implementation entitled "The Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period 2018-2022" Unity.Trust.Creation", which gave an additional impetus to the work to provide housing for the least protected groups of the population.
