On October 24, 2022 a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Moldogaziev and a business delegation from the United States of America headed by the Chairman of the American-Kyrgyz Business Council (AKBC) Philip de Leon.

For reference: The US-Kyrgyzstan Business Council is a non-profit structure, a private and independent trade association aimed at promoting trade and investment ties between the US and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The US delegation consists of representatives of a number of large American companies such as General Electric, Visa, Coca-Cola, Valmont, Medtronic, Borusan, etc.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority issues of mutual cooperation in trade, economic and investment areas, as well as touched upon issues of investment and expansion of production in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Deputy Minister A.Moldogaziev expressed Kyrgyzstan's interest in building up trade and economic ties with foreign countries, including the United States, and noted the importance of mutual cooperation in the field of economic diplomacy.

Further, American companies noted their interest in establishing contacts with Kyrgyz partners, development and cooperation plans, exchanging experience in the field of digitalization of payments in the Kyrgyz Republic, developing renewable energy sources in the Kyrgyz Republic, using water-saving technologies in agriculture, etc.

USKGZBC Chairman Philippe de Leon noted that the main goal of the business mission is to promote American investments in the Kyrgyz Republic and study the conditions for their work in the country. He expressed readiness to work with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic in all areas of mutual interest.

The parties agreed to continue interaction on the discussed issues.
