Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Mirgul Moldoisaeva held a virtual meeting with the Administrator of the UN Development Program Achim Steiner to discuss further cooperation

On October 23, 2020 Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Mirgul Moldoisaeva held a virtual meeting with the Administrator of the UN Development Program Achim Steiner to discuss further cooperation.

During the meeting Permanent Representative Mirgul Moldoisaeva informed about the current internal political situation in the country, particularlu the full functioning of all state institutions and about the events that took place in Kyrgyzstan after the parliamentary elections including the peaceful transfer of power in the country in accordance with national legislation. She also assured the UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner that Kyrgyzstan remains fully committed to its international obligations such as the rule of law, protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms. In addition Permanent Representative Mirgul Moldoisayeva requested to strengthen the assistance of the UN Development Program to the Kyrgyz Republic in the struggle against COVID-19 and its consequences, as well as in improving the electoral process.

The Administrator of the UN Development Program Achim Steiner expressed gratitude to the Permanent Representative Mirgul Moldoisaeva for organizing this meeting and informing about the current situation in the Kyrgyz Republic. He also informed that work on assessment of the Kyrgyzstan's needs to alleviate the current situation caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is being currently conducted, and the decisions will be made to allocate additional funds and provide technical assistance.

In conclusion, Administrator Achim Steiner reiterated his full support for all national efforts of the Kyrgyz Republic and readiness to facilitate the advancement of all requests of the Kyrgyz party's for UN assistance.
