On April 13, 2021, Kairat Imanaliev, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic met with prof. Mr. Fahrettin Altun, Head of the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara.

The parties noted the necessity of strengthening and expanding the bilateral cooperation in the field of information, mass media, and culture, as well as cooperation in a multilateral format - within the framework of TURKSOY and the Turkic Council. In particular, through the signing in the near future of the relevant bilateral Protocol, the preparation of festivals, films, TV series, and documentaries in order to popularize the common history and cultural values of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, etc.

Fahrettin Altun assured of the early opening of a representative office of the national Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) in Bishkek and the resumption of internships for employees of Kyrgyz TV companies at TRT.

Also, the parties discussed the issue of the activities of the Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas", the Chairman of the Board of Trustees from the Turkish side of which is prof. Fahrettin Altun.
