The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea Mrs. Aida Ismailova met with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Korea Mr. Lee One-Seok

On January 30, 2023, in Seoul, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Aida Ismailova met with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Korea Lee One-Seok.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in various areas of activity of the prosecution authorities, in particular combating cybercrime, corruption, smuggling of narcotic drugs, providing mutual legal assistance and extradition of convicted persons. Particular emphasis was placed on further interaction on the exchange of experience and the organization of mutual educational exchanges on the basis of educational institutions of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office of Korea.

Ambassador Aida Ismailova emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the further development of relations with the Republic of Korea in all areas of bilateral cooperation, including through the prosecutor's offices of the two countries. She highly appreciated the ongoing reforms of the Korean Prosecutor's Office, as well as the progress and successes made by the Government of Korea in the field of digitalization, building an effective information system for interaction between government agencies and building the architecture of the cybersecurity system.

In turn, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Korea Mr. Lee One-Seok, informed about the activities of the Prosecutor's Office in general and the ongoing reforms, and also spoke about the features of digital forensics, the basic principles of the Korean automated information system "KICS" and shared his experience in combating cybercrime, and also expressed readiness for further cooperation on all the above issues.

In order to study the experience of Korea to the introduction of information systems in criminal proceedings and further strengthen bilateral cooperation, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing an exchange of visits between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries.
