During the conversation, the parties discussed the Kyrgyz-American agenda and prospects for bilateral cooperation, taking into account the interests and needs of the two countries. Also, Ambassador Amanbaev, informing about the global initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of ecology, called on the American side to provide maximum support in promoting the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.Zhaparov to declare 2022 as the «International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development», as well as programs and projects for its implementation. The corresponding draft UN resolution will soon be submitted to the plenary session of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly. The mountains, being home to glaciers, are the source of water and life for many countries and billions of people.

During the meeting, the Ambassador officially conveyed a congratulatory note from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic R.Kazakbaev to the US Secretary of State A.Blinken on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States.

In connection with the incident that resulted in the death of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic N.Mamyrov on October 5, 2021 in the state of Pennsylvania, the head of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission B.Amanbaev stressed that the Kyrgyz side has kept this issue under special control and called for expediting the investigation by the US competent authorities of the fatal incident.
