On September 27, 2021, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States Baktybek Amanbaev met with Mr.Arefi, CEO of  Astera International LLP.

During the meeting, Mr.Arefi, CEO of Astera International LLP, introduced ways to provide the whole country with cheap heat and electricity without harming the environment, using the latest chapter equipment to obtain geothermal energy.

Ambassador Amanbaev noted that the geothermal energy project is very important for the Kyrgyz Republic, where cold winter months last nearly six months in some parts of the country, and suggested that the company begin to work with the Kyrgyz government. As a result of the discussion, it was agreed that representatives of the company would visit Kyrgyzstan in the coming days and hold meetings with relevant ministries regarding the implementation of the project.

Geothermal energy is the heat emitted by groundwater at a temperature above +20°C. Currently, the active use of geothermal energy is spreading throughout the world. According to world practice, using modern technologies at a depth of several thousand meters under the ground it is possible to find hot water, which can be used for heating and obtaining cheaper electricity.
