On 17 December 2020, the Permanent Representatives of the Central Asian countries met with the Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for Central Asia and Mongolia, Member of the Austrian Parliament Dr. Reinhold Lopatka in Vienna.

The Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE, Ambassador Bakyt Dzhusupov also took part in this meeting.

Inter-parliamentary cooperation development issues were discussed during the meeting. The Permanent Representative B.Dzhusupov informed about the upcoming presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic and the referendum, scheduled for January 10, 2021. He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is committed to holding transparent, free and fair elections in accordance with national legislation and international standards. He stressed that the activities of the OSCE PA play an important role in strengthening the authority of the Organization, especially in the field of election observation.

It was noted that on January 4-5, 2021, the OSCE PA mission intends to visit Bishkek to observe the presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic. The mission is headed by Dr. R.Lopatka.
