On June 8, 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to International Organizations in Vienna Mr. Bakyt Dzhusupov met with the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Mr. Li Yong.

The head of UNIDO expressed the opinion that Kyrgyzstan has great potential and resources for the development of the industrial sector. In turn, the Organization is ready to support the state through the implementation of projects, in particular through the Program for Country Partnership (PCP).

Kyrgyzstan is the only country among the Central Asian region that has become a member of the UNIDO Program for Country Partnership. It is expected that the early adoption of the PCP, which is a tool for achieving economic development, will allow Kyrgyzstan to strengthen the strategic vision of the country's future and implement projects within the framework of medium-term programs that will contribute to the achievement of the country's long-term development goals.

Permanent Representative Mr. Bakyt Dzhusupov expressed gratitude to the Head of UNIDO Mr. Li Yong for his personal support to the Kyrgyz Republic. He assured that the cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with UNIDO has a long-term perspective. To date, a number of technical projects are being successfully implemented in the country. Expressed the hope that the PCP, in order to maximize the promotion of inclusive sustainable industrial development, will meet national priorities and will give additional impetus to the process of national transformation in the industrial sector.

In recognition of the contribution of the Permanent Representative Mr. Bakyt Dzhusupov to the activities of UNIDO Director General Mr. Li Yong also presented a commemorative award of the Organization.
