On 2 February 2023, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE Tolendy Makeyev met with the Secretary General of the OSCE Ms.Helga Schmid in Vienna.

The main topic of discussion at the meeting was the official visit of the Secretary General of the OSCE to the Kyrgyz Republic this year. Secretary General H.Schmid confirmed her intention to pay an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in the first half of 2023. The dates of the visit will be agreed upon by the parties additionally through diplomatic channels.

The meeting also touched upon the issues of holding the OSCE High-Level Conference on Climate change in March of this year in Vienna, in which the Kyrgyz side intends to take active participation. In this context, an exchange of views on the promotion of green economy issues within the framework of the second dimension of the OSCE took place.

The Secretary General H.Schmid, in her turn, highly appreciated the potential of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. She confirmed her intention to continue to fully support its activities.

The Permanent Representative and the Secretary General agreed to continue constructive practical interaction in all three dimensions of the Organization.
